Under a slab
Newer streets west of the square are full of slab houses. A supply leak there shows up as a warm floor or a closet that never dries, not as a puddle.
If the spot is near a bathroom or a kitchen on the ground floor, say that. It points the pro at the lines instead of the roof.

Above the shower
Summer humidity hangs in a tight house. A fan that barely pulls will leave the ceiling wet even when the roof is sound.
Look at the duct if you can do it safely from the attic hatch. A duct lying in the insulation is a find, not a mystery.

In a short crawl
South of town, lots get larger and pier foundations show up. Insulation on the dirt and daylight at the rim are the notes that matter.
You do not have to crawl in yourself. Tell the pro the door is there and whether it has been opened.

What to do this week
Write down the room. Stop using a fixture that is actively leaking. Skip any ad that names a price without a visit.
Then call or send the form. A local pro follows up to set the inspection.
